WERE THE MOON LANDINGS FAKED?
When Apollo 11 took Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin to land on the Moon on 20th July 1969, people all over the world watched the "giant leap for mankind" as it happened on television, witnessing for themselves one of the greatest achievements of the Twentieth Century and, perhaps, in the history of mankind. For many people, the Apollo Moon Landings were proof that with ambition, determination and courage, even the most seemingly impossible task could be achieved. Over the three years following Armstrong and Aldrin's first successful trip to the Moon, another five missions took ten more astronauts there. Since the final mission in 1972, nobody has returned to the Moon, and it is only now that plans are being made to return to it sometime in the next fifteen years. However, there are some people that don't believe that man has ever been to the Moon, and that the Moon landings, instead of being amongst the greatest achievements of the 20th Century, are actually amongst the greatest hoaxes of the 20th Century. They believe that the images transmitted from the Moon were actually filmed in a studio on Earth! This section looks at why anybody would want to fake the Moon landings, how they would do it, and the evidence that is meant to prove that Man didn't go to the Moon.

Even with today's modern technology, sending a man to the Moon is a daunting task, and one that NASA isn't planning to do for at least ten years. Back in the 1960s, technology was even more primitive and rocket launches at the time were prone to failure. At the time
WHY WERE THE MOON LANDINGS FAKED?
The Moon landings were faked because it simply wasn't possible to get to the
Moon. At the end of the 1950s, most rocket launches failed and those that
succeeded, didn't go too far from Earth. Rockets fired to the Moon were simply
sent to impact with it. How could technology go so far that in 10 years,
