SPORTS ON OTHER PLANETS Each planet in the Solar System has a different pull of gravity. This means that certain things on one planet may weigh more on another planet and less somewhere else. The moon has a weaker pull of gravity than Earth which causes anything on the Moon's surface to weigh less. This explains why people walking on the Moon appear to take huge steps. To explain the different strengths of gravity on each of the nine planets and the Moon, let's see how we would play popular sports on them. I'm your host, Bob "the Alien" Wilson. Join me for the 2000 Inter-Planetary Olympic Games. On each planet, we'll feature the long jump, the high jump, golf, snooker and football. Click here to begin! |
